At Legendre UK, safety is more than a priority—it's a core value. As we continue to grow our presence across London, we're looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support our project teams and help maintain the highest standards of health and safety across our construction sites.
Reporting to the Operations Director and working closely with the wider Legendre Group Health & Safety team, you will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and ISO 45001, and supporting the successful delivery of our projects.
Your main duties:
- Promote a positive health and safety culture across all projects.
- Provide practical health and safety advice and support to operational teams.
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and compliance monitoring.
- Support the implementation and continual improvement of our ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Review Construction Phase Plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), lifting plans and temporary works documentation.
- Monitor high-risk construction activities and ensure appropriate control measures are in place.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and health and safety briefings.
- Prepare inspection reports, audit findings and monthly health and safety performance reports.
- Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and project teams.
Profile
You are a proactive Health & Safety professional with a practical approach and a genuine passion for creating safe working environments. Comfortable working across multiple construction projects, you enjoy collaborating with site teams and influencing positive behaviours while maintaining high standards of compliance.
Your profile:
- 5–10 years' experience in construction health and safety.
- Experience working for a Principal Contractor on live construction projects.
- Good knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience implementing or maintaining an ISO 45001 Management System.
- Experience carrying out inspections, audits, incident investigations and reviewing RAMS.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) and NEBOSH General Certificate.
- IOSH Membership (TechIOSH, GradIOSH or CMIOSH desirable).
- CSCS Professionally Qualified Person Card.
- SSSTS qualification.
